JURASSIC WORLD MOVIE PREMIER {My Parties}

Dinosaur Birthday Party
Happy Monday! This is the first week that my kids are out of school and we are working on our summer bucket list. All summer bucket lists includes movie theater blockbusters right? First up is the Jurassic World movie premier. You can’t go wrong with an action packed film that features the fascinating species of dinosaurs as the main stars.

Last week, I shared a sneak peek of the shoot I styled to celebrate the movie premier. It has been 22 years since the original movie was released. That is definitely something worth celebrating! Well, today I am excited to reveal the full set of photos captured by friend Anetrius of Anetrius Wallace Photography.

Traditionally, dinosaur themed parties are designed with earth and neutral tones. I decided to mirror Jurassic World’s new logo, which is a smokey gray tone with pops of blue. Beth Kruse Custom Creations designed the most adorable set of printables to compliment my vision for this project. For the invitation, I envisioned a pair of tickets similar the printed ones at a movie theater. I love how they turned out and were perfect for our premier party!

My family and I love visiting the local museums in our area including the Natural Science Museum of Houston – Sugar Land. They have an amazing Paleontology exhibit that served as the perfect backdrop for our shoot. The exhibit includes triceratops, ankylosaurus, and stegosaurus, as well as many exquisite fossils from the Paleozoic era. There is also a special Dig Pit exhibit, where little scientists can dig for dinosaur fossils!

Popcorn is a prerequisite for any movie themed party. Our party is no exception. I created a simple yet mobile popcorn area! Check out our Popcorn Cart! You can find carts at any furniture retail store. I love shopping at World Market and you can purchase a cart HERE for your next shindig.

I created a movie fun pack with activities, small treats, and favors. Can you imagine how excited I was to find the Mike & Ike candy packs for $1… and they matched the movie theme! 1 point for MOM! I also included a custom trivia card to measure our VIPs’ Paleontology IQ. This is a great way to get your kids excited about the about the movie and have fun learning about dinosaurs! My son Jeremiah loved completing this sheet and I am sure your children will too. Be sure to finish reviewing this post for a free download!

For our dessert table, I layered in smokey gray tones and an amazingly burst of blue hues. I staged the table with large galvanized metal letters and dinosaur figurines  that I dressed with complimenting spray paint. I also sprinkled in skeleton figurines that mirrored our custom printable set!

A beautiful naked cake baked by Down Home Confections served as the centerpiece for our table. I topped our cake with leafy florals and a dinosaur skeleton for the special effect. As you can see, our friend enjoyed the a few bites and could not resist the temptation.

        Is there any place to get the printables for the tickets and VIP badges? I really like that color scheme and when I go to find them on Etsy they are all green and brown.
