Hi friends! It’s Kameela here and I am excited to share details from the shower I styled! Do you want to know the way to an expectant mama’s heart? Well, it’s treating her like royalty and feeding her delicious treats with just the right mix of sugar and spices. Celebrate the mother-to-be in your life with a “Sugar and Spice” theme shower just in time for baby’s arrival. We styled this popular theme with chic florals and chalkboard elements for a fun twist.
We were inspired by this classic and sweet scalloped baby shower invitation from Tiny Prints. The invitation is adorned with the popular phrase, “Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice” which is perfect theme for baby girls. I thought it would be fun to play on those words and sprinkle in baking and cooking elements throughout our design. You will see hints of the theme as you scroll through the photos from this beautiful shower.
We used a clean and simple tablescape design. As a lover of all things florals, we layered in a runner with a floral print plus a gorgeous garland of beautiful florals to add a pop of color to the center of our table. Each guest’s setting included a textured platinum charger, spotted pattern dining plate, and a set of beautiful aqua and blush pink dinner napkins. We loved sneaking in a few of the baking elements with our flour pot name cards and chalkboard styled menus that compliment the invitation. To add the final detail, we created a beautiful backdrop of our letter mylar balloons to spell out the word “baby”, which you can find our shop.
A gorgeous chalkboard backdrop dressed with hand written calligraphy served as a functional masterpiece! Shower guests will appreciate having simple instructions to follow as they make frequent trips to the delicious waffle bar. A waffle bar is a simple way to add a touch of sugar and spice to your shower. Ask guests to pick their favorite spices to sprinkle into the waffle mix. We used some of our seasonal favorites including cinnamon, pumpkin, and vanilla spices…YUM! Once the waffles are grilled and ready, an assortment of fun toppings were waiting for guests to the perfect touch. We used candied rainbow sprinkles, fresh fruit, mini marshmallows, powered sugar and whipped cream. Remember when I mentioned we would sneak in a few cooking and baking elements? Well check out the beautiful teal mixer that served as the pot for our gorgeous array of florals and the mini season shakers and flour pots! I know simply genius!
Thank you for checking out our Sugar & and Spice Baby Shower. We hope your mouths are now watering enough to feel inspired to set up a shower of your own. This would be the perfect addition to your next brunch or get together with friends and family!
